The blog listing page serves as the homepage for the SogetiLabs website. We have successfully migrated all blogs from the previous website, and we are committed to publishing a new blog daily on our updated platform.

Creating Blog and it’s SEO

  • Access the backend – Navigate to https://labs.sogeti.com/wp-admin/. No credentials are required as this is Single Sign-On (SSO) enabled.
  • Navigate to the dashboard – Hover over the “Blog Posts” section and select “Add New”.
  • Blog Title – Enter the title of your blog post
  • Hero Blog block – After adding the title, click on the “+” sign and select the “Hero Blog” block. Re-enter the title within this block.
  • Main content – To add the main content of your blog, click on the “+” sign and choose the “Article Content” block. You can either type directly into this block or copy and paste your content. The formatting will be retained automatically. As highlighted in the below screenshot, navigate to the right side panel, within the article block settings, ensure that you select “Yes” to display social icons. This feature enables website visitors to share content across their social media networks

To include an image below the main content, click on the “+” sign and choose “Image” from the available options

  • Author Details – Once the content is updated, proceed to update the author details. Click on the “+” sign located outside the article content block and select the “Wrapper People Slider”. As highlighted in the below screenshot, in the block settings, select “People” as the post type and “Blog author” as the people type. Then, click on the highlighted “+” sign, as shown in the screenshot below.

As highlighted in the below screenshot, enter the name of the author and ensure that you checkmark the “Link wrap” option to link the author’s name with their respective profile. In the header field, include “About the Author”.

  • Related Posts – Now, let’s add related posts. Click on the “+” sign outside the article content block and select “List Posts”
  • As highlighted in the below screenshot, choose “Blog Post” as the post type from the dropdown menu and filter it by the “Blog category”.You can either select from existing Blog Categories or specify the category in the main settings of the blog, as covered in point 8.In the “Blog Settings”, designate the header of the block as “Related Posts”.Select the desired number of posts you want to display.You can adjust the display to showcase between a minimum of 1 post and a maximum of 10 posts.

Under the Blog Post settings, ensure you select the relevant categories. You also have the option to add a new category if it’s not already available. These categories will be utilized in the Related Posts section discussed in the previous point.

  • Excerpt – The next step is to update “Excerpt” under blog settings. Update this section with a concise summary of your post. This will appear on the blog listing page as below:
  • Featured Image – Next, set a ‘Featured image’ and choose the ‘blog author’ name under ‘Blog Settings’. Once you’ve selected the blog author, save the draft and refresh the page for it to appear in the ‘Hero blog’ block.

SEO Settings

To optimize the SEO settings, navigate to the Yoast SEO section below the post editor. Here, you’ll find various fields to enhance SEO, such as the SEO title and meta description.

  • Enter a compelling SEO title for your post or page in the designated field.
  • Write a concise and informative meta description for your post or page. This brief summary appears below the SEO title in search engine results. You can use the Excerpt as the meta description if desired.”

Readability

Follow these guidelines to improve the readability of your blog while enhancing SEO performance:

  • Clear and concise title: Aim for blog titles around 6 words or less to ensure visibility on search engine results pages (SERPs).
  • Utilize target keywords: Incorporate relevant keywords in the title, headings, subheadings, image titles/names, meta descriptions, and URLs. Avoid keyword stuffing.
  • Include internal links to previous posts: Link back to relevant older posts within your content to improve SEO and provide value to readers.
  • Use subheadings: Organize your content with clear subheadings to aid readability and maintain focus.
  • Write short sentences and paragraphs: Simplify comprehension by using shorter sentences and paragraphs, ideally 2-4 sentences per paragraph with occasional 1-sentence paragraphs for emphasis.
  • Utilize bullet points: Present lists in a clear and concise manner using bullet points for easy scanning.
  • Include a compelling call to action (CTA): Encourage reader engagement with a CTA that emphasizes the benefits of taking action.

Submit for review

Once you have finished and optimized your blog, you can submit it review and scheduling by ticking off the “Pending Review” option. You can also tick off the “Enable Public Review” to create the review URL which will only be applicable for 48 hours

FAQs

You can draft your blog/whitepaper directly on WordPress and submit it for review using the steps outlined above. Alternatively, you can send the content to the Marketing Lead in a Word document, and they will create the blog on your behalf after review.

While there aren’t strict guidelines, we kindly request that you avoid discussing controversial topics, sensitive client information, religion, or competitors. Additionally, we recommend limiting the word count to 600-700 words. If your content exceeds this limit, consider creating a whitepaper or splitting it into a series of blog posts for better readability and engagement.

Please be advised that according to Group Guidelines, all Gen AI-related content must undergo review and approval by Marcom and Steerco. Therefore, if you intend to post any related content, kindly submit it to the Marketing Lead in a Word document for necessary approvals and management.

To publish a Vlog, provide the video and accompanying write-up to the Marketing Lead. They will upload the video to the SogetiLabs YouTube channel, embed/upload it in a blog, optimize it for SEO, and schedule it for publishing.

Your blog account will be created as part of the onboarding process. Feel free to start writing whenever you have ideas.

There’s no upper limit. The Marketing Lead will send timely reminders based on the blog calendar when your posts are due.

Understanding your audience’s perspective is crucial. Take into account their interests, questions, and challenges to inspire creative ideas. These could be from a recent project you worked on, an event you attended, or any trending technology.

Your blog is promoted across SogetiLabs’ social media channels, and we encourage you to share the blogs with your networks to increase visibility further.
